What “expanded gamut” means
Most fabric printing uses four inks: cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK). Every color on the graphic is a mix of those four, and some colors are simply out of reach: certain oranges, greens, blues and purples come out dull or shifted.
Expanded-gamut printing adds extra ink colors to the set. [CONFIRM: ink set of the FabriVU 340 i8, for example CMYK plus orange, blue/violet and light inks.] With more inks to mix from, the printer can reproduce far more of the colors your designers actually specify, including many Pantone spot colors, without custom-mixed inks.
Why it matters for your brand
- Brand colors that match. Logo oranges, corporate blues and greens get much closer to the spot color, and they match across every panel, every reprint and every show.
- Natural skin tones. People photography looks like people, not orange or gray.
- Smooth gradients. Fades and sky backgrounds stay smooth across large SEG walls, without visible banding.
- Consistency across sizes. The same file looks the same on a tabletop banner and a 20-foot backlit wall.
Sizes and materials
- Print width: up to [CONFIRM: about 3.4 m / 134 in] in a single piece, with seamless sewing for larger walls.
- Fabrics: backlit and frontlit SEG fabrics, tension fabric, sheer and blockout fabrics, flags and banners. [CONFIRM: approved fabric list.]
- Finishing in-house: silicone edge, pole pockets, hems and hardware, sewn and fit-tested on the frame before it ships. See silicone edge graphics and fabric light boxes.
- Production: [CONFIRM: speed / typical turnaround] from our Cypress, CA facility, with delivery to Las Vegas and convention centers nationwide.
See the difference
[CONFIRM: before/after photos. Print the same file in standard CMYK and on the FabriVU 340 i8, photograph them side by side under the same light, and add the images here.]
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to change my artwork?
No. Send your files as you normally would, with your Pantone references. We handle color management and proof critical colors before production.
Does expanded gamut cost more?
[CONFIRM: pricing approach, for example no upcharge versus standard dye-sub.]
Can you match my exact Pantone color?
Expanded gamut reaches many more Pantone colors than CMYK. For brand-critical colors we print a color swatch on your chosen fabric for approval before the full run.
Does it work for backlit light boxes?
Yes. We profile backlit fabrics separately so colors stay true when the lights are on.
When is it available?
The FabriVU 340 i8 arrives at our facility in December 2026. [CONFIRM: first production date.] Ask us about scheduling projects for early 2027 trade shows.
